Microarray Platform

Microarray technology is used in various fields of Medicine and Biology. Genome analysis, polymorphisms genotyping (linked to multifactor diseases), as well as studying differential gene expression of cell populations, tissues and organisms (transcriptome) and protein identification can be carried out thanks to it.

It is possible to choose among different technological microarrays to carry out studies, according to biological demand, experimental design as well as costs, tailoring also an ad hoc microarray for the specific experimentation needed. The Microarray Platform can identify the kind of study, to select a specific microarray, choose a marker method and target hybridisation up to experimental design, analyse the fluorescent signal, bioinformatic analysis and biological interpretation of results.

Reliability and reproducibility, which are fundamental qualities considering the bulk of data to be analised, is guaranteed by the realisation of joint qualitative controls at every step, and by the use of standardised protocols.

Moreover, the use of this technology allows studies on pharmaceutical treatment of cell lines, of micro-organisms which produce antibiotics, of cancer diseases or of different drug reaction. All of them are studies characterized by a wide bulk of data and by the need to optimize performances from the point of view of time and costs, with an absolute quality warranty.
